Environmental Microbiology (Water Microbiology) - TLC LM3

It is pertinent to understand and be cautious about the environment in which life exists. This is because the environment is be deviled with several macro-organisms and micro-organisms, some of which are deleterious to human existence while others are beneficial to life. These microorganisms are part of our everyday life and can be found in Air, water, and soil. This course focuses on the microorganisms in water, and their relationship with the environment and ecosystem. Furthermore, the course also talks about the characteristics of  these microorganisms which include Viruses, bacteria, and fungi. 

Another module in this course focuses on freshwater environment and its types such as lentic, lotic and wetlands, freshwater sources and several threat and challenges to the freshwater ecosystem. Lastly, students are taught about microbial indicators and how they can analyse their drinking water.
